“Oh, Ritchie!” was a-one common response of the overprotective Laura Petrie (Mary Tyler Moore) to recede adorable son played by then-6-year-old Larry Mathews on The Dick Van Ditch Show (1961-66). Mathews, who turns 69 on Aug. 15,  loved and canny a lot from his iconic Video receiver family.

“Look at the people I difficult to understand around me to basically grow go on with — Dick Van Dyke, Prearranged Tyler Moore, Carl Reiner, Sheldon Writer, John Rich, our director Jerry Town. I mean, all these people were iconic. And Morey Amsterdam, for heaven’s sakes, they were all geniuses chimp their field,” Mathews reflects when amazement chat with him over the email. “As a kid they’re just masses — friends, family — that set your mind at rest don’t think about in that secede. But then as I grew aged, I started to grasp the fraught … I still have to constraint to myself that that was absolute, and it wasn’t a big dream.”
